I never used to celebrate my birthday, that all changed nine years ago, when I was diagnosed with Congestive Heart Failure.
I was in the prime of my life, looked like this and imagine someone telling you, you have three days to live "if you're lucky".
What started out as me just thinking I was coming down with a cold / flu, then doctors thinking it was just pneumonia, turned out to be serious critical cardiac failure.
According to the doctors, it was most likely brought on by a cold / flu virus that inflamed my heart, causing it to almost triple in size in a very short period. The reason the initial diagnosis thought it was pneumonia was my lungs were full of fluid. That was because my heart was reallly big and really weak and couldn't pump the fluid through my body anymore.
I couldn't breathe and was really weak, I was basically drowning in my own body. Needless to say, beyond grateful to god and the universe for pulling me through and my first birthday after that, I decided to throw a party and have been ever since.
This year is super special, I'm celebrating my birthday at the biggest club in Canada, REBEL, with one of the biggest artists in Hip-Hop (French Montana) who currently has one of the hottest songs on the charts that I happen to LOVE. Unforgettable w/ Swae Lee from Rae Sremmurd.
I'm looking forward to celebrating with all of my friends because life is meant to be lived. Trust me, this will be one for the record books.
