Apparently weed IS a gateway drug...to a longer life for some people. Source.
“In states that legalized medical marijuana, U.S. hospitals failed to see a predicted influx of pot smokers, but in an unexpected twist, they treated far fewer opioid users, a new study shows.
Shocking. I know. It's almost as if...marijuana's a less harmful, less addictive, yet highly effective means of pain management.
“Hospitalization rates for opioid painkiller dependence and abuse dropped on average 23 percent in states after marijuana was permitted for medical purposes, the analysis found. Hospitalization rates for opioid overdoses dropped 13 percent on average.”
Why, who would have thought that presenting people with a LEGAL, controlled means of "self medication" would result in them partaking of it in safer ways and leaving the more harmful, dangerous drugs behind?
Definitely not the top lawman (who committed perjury on his interview for the job to Congress) of the United States AG Jeff Sessions (who also looks like Jabba The Hut's evil sidekick Salacious B. Crumb, the Kowakian Monkey Lizard)
From continuing to spread unfounded lies...
“I am astonished to hear people suggest that we can solve our heroin crisis by legalizing marijuana,” he said, “so people can trade one life-wrecking dependency for another.”
...which have literally been proven not true decades ago.
Then again, Sessions is the same guy that said he didn't have any problems with the KKK until he found out that some of them smoked weed..."and good people don't smoke weed".
Moral of the story? Legalize it. Now.
And don't put racist assholes with an aversion to facts in charge of anything.
