You're doing it with a documented (allegedly) sexual predator. Terry Richardson aka "Uncle Terry"...cause you know...making a joke out of familial rape is funny.
Now, sexual exploitation is a very, very, real thing. My problem with Miley's latest shoot isn't that she's nekkid. It's that she's so blindingly unaware of herself it's becoming sad.
Miley's built in security blankey of being rich, influential and a global celebrity insulates her from alot of very real problems. She can pose with a man who's taken advantage of desperate women trying to get a break in the fashion industry, because the power imbalance he normally abuses is tilted heavily in her favour. She's privileged.
She's glamourizing a sexual predator so she can appear "edgy".
There's nothing "edgy" about vagina's Miley. Half the population of the planet has one. You're also not breaking new ground (self absorbed, unaware, self-exploitative celebrity has been done over and over again), we get it. You wanna kill Hannah Montana. You did that a long time ago. So I don't get what the point of your exploits are?
Are you trying to promote sex positivity? Well sex has consequences and comes with responsibilities. Posing repeatedly with a sexual predator is the furthest thing from responsible. The irony being you are trying to get away from the superficiality of "Hannah Montana" and ran straight into the superficialy of "Miley", which is becoming way, way, worse.
Your superficiality is dangerous. Dangerous because Terry Richardson isn't the only exploitative pervert with a camera in this world. Dangerous because, unlike you, all the girls out there that WANT to explore fashion can make the wrong choices, thinking that abusive perverts are OK and normal. Dangerous, because unlike you, they aren't insulated from predators. Hell, even other starlets aren't.
You're setting up alot of girls to be taken advantage of, because they will see you shooting with this sicko and want to shoot with him too...or some other dirtbag.
I get you want to "free" yourself Miley, unfortunately, you can't free yourself from your celebrity or your influence.
You know what would be shocking to me at this point, Miley?
If you were to cover up and start acting like an adult and not a 3 yr old who just discovered her vagina and wants to show everyone, completely unaware of the actions effects on yourself or those around you.
If you want to call attention to an issue or your body, it's totally fine to do so.
But this isn't the way to do it. Be honestwith yourself and us. What you want is to "shock" people. Period. It's an empty, shallow, gesture and for women that aren't you...potentially dangerous.
Grow up.
